Dandy Don's is too expensive at $700 - looking more for an actual ice cream truck or soft serve option. Any help would be appreciated. BTW the melted popsicle people moved to New Orleans. Thanks!

The easiest sheapest option would be to find one and get their card. They usually hang around schools right as the dismissal bell rings.

On older posts from 2007, several people recommended meltdown popsicle (got the name wrong before).

I loved the Coolhaus idea - I emailed them.
The only problem with regular ice cream trucks is the ones in our area are creepy vans and not sure how reliable they are. Plus, not sure I want to serve my guests bomb pops. But they are cheap!! Crossing my fingers Coolhaus ends up being relatively reasonable.

J.L. - thanks for the info. I emailed them. Did you hire them? If so, how much was it if you don't mind my asking.

I bought a King Kone and a banana milkshake from them at the recent food truck fest. Yum!

Sorry, I didn't inquire into prices regarding rental. They are an enthusiastic upstart business - I suspect you might be able to haggle on a good price...

King Kone looked great, but they are booked for the date already :-( I am awaiting replies from the others. So far, all american softy looks promising...

There is an ice cream truck commisary on Parthenia at Vanalden. You could reach a bunch of trucks at the same time there. We once rented one of those ice cream carts from another commissary on Parthenia a block or 2 east of Sepulveda.
