Pho Wagon, Sunnyvale

There are plenty of great Vietnamese places in San Jose, plus Tamarine in Palo Alto. But something good closer to home for Vietnamese has been harder to find.

So today I tried the pho ga at Pho Wagon in Sunnyvale, and it was quite good. This is my first pho ga, but I've had lots of chicken soups. I like the combination of chicken flavor and the pho seasonings I've had in beef phos.

Beyond pho, the menu has egg noodle soups, egg noodle stir frys, rice plates, rice noodle plates, crepes, and pad thai. Has anybody else been there? I'll probably be making some return visits to check out more of the menu.

It doesn't look like there's a place listed for this yet - it's at 1627 Hollenbeck Ave. in Sunnyvale, in the shopping plaza at Hollenbeck and Homestead. It's open Tuesday to Sunday 11 to 9.

      Is it really a wagon?

No, it's a mall storefront, but a bit more nicely decorated than other Vietnamese restaurants of similar size.
