Drinks and conversation in Soho?

Hi all,

I'm meeting a colleague in Soho next week - we'd like to go out for drinks. I'm looking for a place that is reasonably priced (any good happy hours? >$10 per drink?) and also good for holding a conversation (low-key, not super-crowded, no loud music.) Preferably within walking distance of the Canal or Houston 1 train stops. No further west than Broadway, I'd say.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance!
