Tips for Dining, Eating, and Food Shopping in Manhattan

Suggestions - Chinatown Dumplings around Orchard St.

Have to be around Orchard/Grand this evening and looking for a place to get dumplings - light appetizers.. We usually go to Wonton Garden on Mott, but that's a bit far away for tonight.
Would prefer a similar place much closer to that area.

    1. Vanessa's is pretty good, and very close. There's also Prosperity, but I've not been there.

          Prosperity's fried dumplings are better than Vanessa's (the latter's dough is too thick and tough for my taste). But Prosperity is basically takeout only, other than a small counter space. Vanessa's has several tables to allow you to eat in more comfortably.

          • Prosperity is good and closer to where you'll be than my favorite Chinatown dumpling spot which is on Mosco street (between Mott and Mulberry)
