Wine 101 offered by LCBO?

Has anyone here tried the Wine 101 offered by the LCBO?

i'd like to go with a wife and coworker .... but really don't know what it is .... or what it's about.

is it worth the $55 price of admission?

It's a stationed event that takes you through the some very basic principles of wine. Distinguishing between varietals, tasting notes.
If Ed Madronich (Flat Rock Cellars/WCO) is there, which he usually is, its very informative.

It totally depends on which store you are taking the class - the PC's (Product Consultant) teaching ability varies greatly. What location are you looking at?
