Where is the best place for a moderate priced dinner (entree from $20 to $25) near 22nd and Park? Cuisine and ambiance open.

Thanks for all the recommendations. We will be in this hood for dinner again soon, so we will have a chance to try a couple of the other recs (Have been to Blue Smoke and like it, REALLY want to try Tavern Room at GT... I'm too cheap for the dining room :)

We ended up going to Barbounia. Really liked the space and the food was great (we shared the mixed mezze, mushroom sage gnocchi and lamb terra cotta). I was a bit put off by the fact that when I asked about the prix fixe, the waiter said they didn't have one because they were changing the menu (even though they have one listed on their website). We probably wouldn't have ordered it anyway but I just think that is tacky.

How about the Tavern Room at Gramercy Tavern? I've heard great things about it.

L'Express has decent cafe type food and the price is right.

If you're looking for something casual, Blue Smoke is not a bad option. It often takes knocks on this board, but I think it's a good option in that price range. The fried chicken is good.

The tapas (humms, tsatziki, roasted eggplant, taramousalata (my absolue favorite) and spicy feta dips with the naan like bread as an app and the gnocchi (melted in my mouth).

                  I'm thinking Almond or Novita.
