Early dinner suggestions this Saturday midtown

thehungrything Jan 21, 2010 06:33 PM

Going skating with my 15 year old son Saturday afternoon. I am looking for a place to have dinner with excellent food, not fancy, most ethnic cuisines are fine. We love Japanese food, Tapas, casual French food. My son hates cilantro, which rules out Mexican and Vietnamese.
We will be traveling between Penn Station and the Wollman rink but I would be willing to go a little out of the way for something great.

    Yakitori Totto would be perfect.

marseille (9th and 44th) and landmarc (AOL time warner center which may be a cool idea) is a good choice for casual french.
La Fonda Del Sol by Grand Central for tapas

These all look good. Marseilles is owned by the same group that owns Nice Matin, which is a favorite of mine.
