needed: casual date spot near W Westwood that is NOT the W Westwood

In town on business and have a date. (!!) Looking for a casual spot, perhaps bar/restuarant for a Sunday night, on the late side (after 8pm). Would prefer walking around area if it exists in this area, but at least a place with great food and atmosphere with potential for a drawn out evening with some good people watching. Not crazy loud - a little conversation won't kill me.

The food is better at Napa Valley Grill but the description you give probably fits Palomino better.

Don't know about the crowd at Palomini.. Prefer The Glendon. I mean, neither has excellent food, might as well go with the hipper, non-chained option.

Second for Blvd16. Food isn't WOW but its pretty good. We like sitting at the bar and having appetizers and cocktails. My partner is picky about her mixed drinks and she was impressed at Blvd16. Notably, the lounge is quiet and seems private even when there are others around. Sophisticated but not stuffy.
