I'll be in the Orangeville area this weekend and I'm wondering if there are any good restaurants to try for dinner. Any type of cuisine is fine. Thanks in advance!
I agree with the Mono Cliffs Inn reccomendation - go downstairs to Peter's Cellar if you want something a little more intimate, yet fun. Food is always great, i especially like the grilled calimari and the caesar salad.
One99 on Broadway is okay, but i think its a little overpriced for what it is. I've eaten there twice and neither time was i particularly impressed. The room is also a little cold.
There is a also a nice Jamaican restaurant on Mill Street, just west of Broadway. Some local kids own it. No liquor license, but the food is quite good. I had the fish and my sister enjoyed her jerked chicken.
I tried the Black Birch Restaurant when they first opened, but haven't been back since (not because of the restaurant; just haven't had the chance). They were buying local meat from the Mennonites and the quality was very good. They are located on Hockley Valley Road, just a hop, skip and jump from Orangeville. If you go, let us know how it is.
Just came back from dinner at One99. We had an excellent meal and, for what we got, did not find it to be at all overpriced. The space is gorgeous, the service was attentive, our meats -- rib-eye and venison -- were cooked exactly to the doneness we'd ordered (medium-rare), and they were flavourful and tender. The appetizers and sides were very well prepared, as well. We'll definitely be back.
