Had Lola's chicken for the first time since the tasting at Chowpatty's. Skin is deliciously crispy and smokey, but it's all downhill from there.

I'm not dumb but I can't understand why they use enough salt to choke twenty men, Lo-la. Lightly dressed cole slaw is good though.

Noticed picarones on the dessert menu, but passed them up to sample the ginger rosewater ice cream at Mashti Malone. Similar to the effect of Blenheim's Ginger Ale. Not exactly pleasurable, but you do feel cleansed afterwards.

Next time try the Orange Blossom at Mashti Malone's... That's my favorite in the whole store...

Orange Blossom is among the best flavors... also try the saffron and pistachio. I was advised on this board to try the felloudeh, and will soon.

I second the falloudeh -- I had it at Shamshiri and fell in love with it. Luckily, I don't have to drive all the way to Hollywood or Glendale to get my fix of MM as Q Market on Vanowen in Van Nuys carries it in their freezer section. Yippee!

Falloudeh is strangely addictive. I remember getting it in a little cup on a 105 degree day in Northridge and just enjoying every spoonful.

BTW, the woman at Mashti Malone's said that Raffi's Place is their biggest account. Can someone explain to me why that place is so popular? Good kabobs, but they don't have tahchin or any of those stews I like at Shamshiri.

You have to walk into the Exchange complex, across the street from Manila Grill. It's on the right side as you enter off Maryland.
