Kombucha Scoby San Diego

I know that I can order it online but I was wondering if anyone knows a source locally were I can get a mother culture. danke

  1. There are sometimes posts on craigslist from private persons. I haven't used any so far but was looking into it:

    1. the Linkery makes their own kombucha... you could talk to them about getting a piece of scoby.

      I've also made one successfully using a bottle of original kombucha bought from Whole Foods or Henry's. Actually, I've also made one with a ginger flavored kombucha, too. 4 c. water, 1/4 c. sugar, 4 bags of black tea - simmer and steep, cool, add a bottle of kombucha and let it sit for about a week (depending on the temperature).
