The best cookies in New York City, or perhaps anywhere, can be found at Ruby et Violette, a small cafe in Hell's Kitchen on W. 50th St. between Ninth and Tenth Avenues, which also has brownies and ice cream (I only tried the cookies). I ate three of them, each one a little masterpiece. I don't remember the names of two of them. The third, Geisha Seduction, was amazing, dark chocolate with chunks of candied ginger. I was told that all cookies have chocolate in them, some dark, some white. The taste is so wonderful, and the texture is your dream cookie texture, providing that in your dreams you can imagine this far. I asked for a cookies menu. They informed me that they can't have a menu because they make different cookies every day. This place is definitely a destination. 718.728.6250 • 457 West 50th Street, NYC 10019. You can also look up the cookies on their website: www.rubyetviolette.com.
