Edit bug?
Over on the Wine board, I recently posted a long set of tasting notes. http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/681861
Wanting to fix a couple of typos, I clicked the Edit button, made my changes and then clicked Save. As usual, the red Saving message appeared. After one or two seconds, the Saving message redisplayed, this time in black and a smaller font and my brower's "in progress" indicator stopped. Also, the black Saving message was highlighted in yellow that faded to white (like new posts). When I refreshed the page, only the original, unedited text was displayed. What gives?
Edit: Just tried editing this message and it works.

I experienced the same thing while editing two long posts -- the red Saving message appeared, but nothing ever happened after that. The edited post was not posted, and not saved. Happened at least ten times. It was maddening. A terrible waste of time.
To reprise Carswell, what gives?

It seems to be a problem with longer posts specifically. Engineering is working on a fix for a future release.
