Bakery in Miami Beach/Boca Raton for birthday cake

We will be traveling from Miami Beach to Boca Raton for a special birthday party and would appreciate recommendations for a bakery that has pretty, but more importantly delicious, birthday cake. It needs to be pareve with a certification like KM (Kosher Miami) or the like.

Epicure Gourmet Market, 1656 Aldon Road in Miami Beach, FL, 33139, is my friend's go-to place for Jewish kosher style food in Miami. She especially recommends the coconut cake, a Southern specialty, and the vegetables are delicious. Everything is delicious! If you phone ahead there are specialty cakes they will custom make for you. She's a life-long Miamian and has been to Epicure MANY times over the decades.

Remember there is no kosher certification; it's kosher STYLE. There is a second location on 17190 Collins Ave, Sunny Isles Beach, FL 33130. The daily menu is listed on the Epicure website, www.epicuremarket.com. The menus for the Aldon Road location and the beach are different. You may want to phone ahead to ask about parking. There is a delivery service provided by courier, call customer service to inquire. They hope to have teir own delivery service soon.

The person who posted noted that it has to be a kosher cake, not kosher style.

Re Epicure Market- we passed by the one on Collins Ave recently... went in expecting something special. Maybe it's the New Yorker in me, but I wasn't impressed.

Although we don't live in Miami, every time we are in town we make sure to pick up cakes from Extravaganza bakery. Try it, you won't be disappointed. We are yet to find a dessert or cake there that we do not like. I believe their contact info is on the KM website.

Kastner's on 41st street used to make great cakes. I assume they still do.
