hello all...interested in finding a place for valentines day around the new brunswick/somerville areas. we would kind of like to try a new, local, byob but any suggestions appreciated!

there is a really cute french bistro in somerset (i think it's called sophie's). not byo, but i think it is a place many people haven't tried and what's more romantic than french cooking?
i am making the haul up to lorena's in maplewood, which is considered one of the best byos in the state.

Chowgal, Sophie's Grill is on Hamilton St. in Somerset not too far off from the North Brunswick city line.

The duck & andalouie sausage cassoulet (sp) was spectacular the time that I dined there.

we love lorenas- but on valentines day it is either 2-430 or 8-930 with nothing in between. on a sunday night with a 45 min drive, the later times will be tough with work the next day

I agree that Sophie's Bistro in Somerset would be a terrific choice (earlier today, I recommended this place in another thread).

My favorite BYO restaurant in Somerville is da Filippo's. Girasole in Bound Brook is a close second.
