Queen's Louisiana Po-Boy Cafe, a shrimp po'boy on the way to the airport. Add a little hot sauce.

I second Queen's esp. since I haven't been. All the reviews says it's worth the stop and sandwiches always travel well.
A bit more out of the way, but on the way to SFO, I go to Little Lucca's in South S.F. Great sandwich selection, everything is very good and it's cheap. A regular sandwich will feed two normal people.

Another sandwich option: Kitchenette's menu for this week sounds really good. I had the porchetta sandwich last week and it was really tasty. The other option this week is a sesame soy steak sandwich -- how bad could that be?
Then again, I'll 3rd the Queen's recommendation. I went there this weekend and got a bowl of gumbo and a half and half po boy - oyster and shrimp. Really good, especially the gumbo and the oyster po boy. More than enough for two. Definitely be sure to get the remoulade. Oh, and I'd never had Abita root beer before and now I'm a fan.

The Sentinel has great sandwiches. Note that some sandwiches have a lot of mayo, that might not travel as well. It's just a couple blocks from Yank Sing.
