Seacrets review - Ocean City, MD

  • 7

Spent the weekend in Ocean City and got 3 recommendations to try Seacrets. We went before the place really got jumping, about 5:30 pm. LOVED the atmosphere, it really reminded me of places we've been in the Caribben. Absolutely LOVED the food, so much so that we went twice!
Night 1, I ordered the maryland crab chowder and the fish special of the day. the chowder was easily the best I've ever had. The special was grilled rockfish with a margarita lime salsa. I got it blackened. It was delicious. The blackening was nice, not too spicy. My best friend had the crab cake, which I tasted and was awesome.
Night 2, I had the crabcake and the maryland crab chowder. again, awesome altho not very warm. BFF had the fish special which was mahi with a caramelized onion and tomato relish. She ordered it blackened - it was much spicier than mine the night before, but really delicious! Can't comment on other entrees as the entire table of 7 either had the fish or the crab cake. 2 people ordered the creamy crab chowder and loved it.
Next time we're in OC, we will visit Seacrets again. :)

  1. Thanks for this. We have wondered if Seacrets could actually have good food!

the menu is not extensive, but was decent. It has several entrees, sandwiches, salads... with selections for non-fish eaters.
Your sides are limited to the starch and veggie of the day... we had roasted red potatos one night, garlic smashed the next. both nights the veggie was asparagus - which was very nicely cooked.

I almost forgot! In the winter all entrees are 1/2 price! I believe all were under $12. I know the 5oz crab cake entree was under $10. sides are included in this price.

We have a lot of good deals in this area in the off-season, but a crabcake entree for under $10 is unheard of. Wow. I would have gone back a second night also! The cost can really take away from the fun of a getaway. How wonderful that you and your friends had such a good experience at the beach!
We enjoy that slow drive to Ocean City from Lewes but run out of ideas. Thanks so much for sharing.

My husband and I were there in 2003 and we were not even married at the time...I cannot really tell you if the food was good but the drinks were definitely great! Perhaps I was a light weight...I was rather "intoxicated" when the food arrived. On the other hand, my husband said that it was very good and for the price.

I ordered one drink each evening and sipped carefully since I was driving. I really enjoyed the "J"... also had the Sting, which I did not like nearly as well. My friend had the big bamboo and we laughed the rest of the weekend over the name. ;)

I first went to Seacrets in 1991. It was not open to the public, just private guests. One of my roommates worked there, so I was able to get in. My roommate insisted that I get the jerk chicken. It was incredible. They marinate it in some secret sauce for two days. They still do it that way, and it's been my favorite dish in the world since '91. The frozen drinks are also popular, though much smaller than they used to be. They have Rum Runner, Pina Colada, and when those two are swirled together, it's called a Pain in De Ass. I also recommend the tuna steak, which does not have the bad fishy flavor of a lesser restaurant. They also have a unique "Jamaican Pizza" It's a thick crust pizza for one. All the "toppings" are put on the crust and the cheese is baked on top of the toppings. It doesn't have a tomato sauce, but rather chopped tomatoes, for a very different, enjoyable taste. I recommend Seacrets for lunch or an early dinner. At night, it's $10 cover and it gets over-ridden with young drunken idiots.
