Colony to add new location in Fairfield
Yes it's true! Was there last night and was told by the bartender that sometime in the spring that Colony will open a second location in Fairfield . He did not have a address. He did say that menu will be the same (only pizza)

I grew up in Stamford with the "original" greasy Colony pizza. Ttrust me, it is tasty,
but no comparison to the fresh yummy taste at Southport Pizza. Plus, Colony tried to open
a Colony 2 years ago on Hope Street in Stamford, and it was not s good as the original. It
had to close down afew years later. I think the teens wil like it, bu not healthy, especially
the hot oil pressed pizza.›3 Replies-
re: temilove
Even if the pizza is half as good as the Stamford one, it's still better than most. I have been eating it for 6+ years and haven't noticed a change in anything. The only change was that they got rid of the 1970's booths for some new ones, which I am fine with. Otherwise, they still take the phone off the hook when it's too busy!

re: temilove
It's open, anyone tried it yet? My son and his friends, all Stamford Colony aficionados, are skeptical that the new place can incorporate what they call the "nuances" of the original :
1) The phone has to ring endlessly and then be taken off the hook.
2) If a customer asks for a take-out pizza to be ready when the meal is over, it has to be forgotten about.
3) The bathroom has to have curse words scrawled all over it.
4) the waitresses and bartenders have to be drunker than the customers. At Colony, it's clearly about more than just the pizza...

re: MommaJ
I was at the mother ship Thursday at noon. Sat at the bar, had a draft, read the FT and waited for guests. Moved to a bar booth when they got there: hot oil and sausage, hot oil with sausage and pepperoni, hot oil with pepperoni (mine). Pies were good. I'm not sure what to make of the extra sauce. It's new, it's different, it's ... sweet. I'm not sure I like sweet.

There is an article about their move to Fairfield that has them going to 1215 Post Road - - - which is the exact address of Pizzeria Molto. So something isn't right, but here is the link:

I actually think this is kind of sad. Wasn't the business sold a year or 2 ago? So the new owners are now franchising it?!? Boo.
