Shout out for Habesha

Gored gored. Raw beef with spicy cardamom sauce. If you think you've truly experienced this dish at another Boston-area Ethiopian restaurant, you are wrong.

Habesha is by far the best Ethiopian restaurant around, even better than Fasika before they moved. Great prices and nice people in a comfortable room.

Thanks for the reccomendation. I've been to Habesha several times but haven't worked up the nerve to try the raw stuff.

Our crew, who's been more than once, liked the kiftos vs. the gored gored.

"The crew" hasn't been in a bit - perhaps we'll plan a visit soon, and let you all know so you can join us!

Very easy to get to by T - ,nice 10 minute walk, up Florence St. or driving - down the street from Fuloon.

Big group of us have had great meals there - http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/6078... - report by No Natto on Apr 25 ...includes link to pics!

Vegetarians - Tasty veggies, but menu is almost entirely meat. Gluten, etc. - I think there might be some info in the earlier posts - I think she uses teff for the injera (the puffy "bread" that the dishes are eaten with) but also, if memory serves, uses wheat in there, too - She's very nice, and you might be able to get her to make injera with only teff if that woerks for you!

No, and the menu isn't up anyplace. It's a smallish selection. They do have a beer & wine license.
