Shower Brunch Suggestions - Near Westchester Side of Tappan Zee

alivn Jan 17, 2010 04:08 PM

I am helping to plan a shower for my future daughter-in-law for about 70 people. We would like to do a Sunday brunch at a restaurant or venue with great food, casual but elegant, that can accomodate 70 in a private space. Because people are coming from many places we thought somewhere near the Westchester side of the Tappan Zee with Metro North access would be convenient. Appreciate any ideas you might have. I am running out.
Thanks so much

A friend is having her daughters baby shower at Doubletree right over the bridge (westchester side).

Another vote for Sunset Cove, had a private party there last year for my husband's b'day, they did a fabulous job, great views and the foods pretty good. The service was outstanding too.

The Rye Grill and Bar has a private room that holds up to 80. I hosted an event there at Christmas and was very pleased with the food and service. It's also easy to get to for out-of-towners (it's basically at the Rye train station), and plenty of parking on a Sunday.

Ask Il Sorriso in Irvington what they can do.Maybe they'd take your business and close to public for the day.

Half Moon in Dobbs Ferry, or Harvest in Hastings. Both right by the RR station.

Red Hat in Irvington- great food and service but pricey. Sunset Cove in Tarrytown- great price and view and food is good enough. Both are walking distance from Metro North.

Called Red Hat, but our group is too large for upstairs, private event. It only seats about 40. Has anyone had any recent experience with the Tarrytown House? We are also looking at Striped Base and Sunset Cove.
