Pastrami on Rye @ Metro Diner in Jax/San Marco

The Metro Diner in San Marco advertises home cured and smoked pastrami (available only on Fridays.)

Has anyone tried the pastrami? We are desperate for the real deal. I am so tired of Boar's Head.

I had the pastrami on rye last week (based on a chowhound recommendation), and it was excellent - great smoky flavor, excellent texture, and just enough fat to keep the meat moist without being greasy.

This is the real deal, it is now on the menu you do not have to wait for friday. You have to try it it is by far one of the best Pastrami's in town.

Make sure you get it to go, because you need earplugs to stand all the noise when you eat there. I wish they would do something about the acoustics in that place.

This place is the real deal and the pastrami is the best I have had in FLA: moist, smoky, peppery, a nice amount of fat. 1930's kind of diner that you see in older cities. The specials and the breakfast looked very good. I highly recommend this place.
