I'm looking to take a friend for the best Calzone in North Scottsdale or North Phoenix .. A New York calzone fan needs a bit of home on the plate. The place must be low key and wheelchair friendly.. Any ideas? Thanks

Slices does a killer calzone -- at least they do at their Downtown Tempe location. The small, local chain has another location at Desert Ridge. How uniform their quality is from one location to another, I can't say.

I suppose you could always go to Grimaldi's in Old Town Scottsdale.

I have never had the calzone, but I've enjoyed the pizza at The Cove Trattoria. It's always been low-key when I've been there. I think the suite number on the place link is old. They are now located a little further west, next to Ruth's Chris.

Another thread just reminded me of Redendo's, with two locations, one in northeast Scottsdale and one in Fountain Hills. I have not tried the calzones there, but if they're even half as good as the pizzas, they'd still be delicious.
