Motorcycle trip from NY to Miami via I-95, where to eat?
I have seen a few road trips threads but was unable to reply to them for some reason.
We'll be leaving NYC and riding down, we will stop for the first meal in MD. I'd like to have the next meal approximately 500 south of that, which would be just shy of Savannah. This stop will more likely than not be late into the evening.
Is there anything [relatively] cheap and decent in or around Savannah or within 100 miles N or S of it?
I will have some portable camping cookware and a stove so even picking up not ready to eat food at a supermarket would be alright by me as I will be stopping at a motel that evening anyway. Which is what I normally do, however I would like this to be comfortable for my friend(s) who will be joining me.
I realize that it would probably be easier, simpler and cheaper to bring some ready to eat foods like deli meat and condiments in a soft cooler, but this will be a long trip and after a full day in the saddle we may crave something more filling.
Oh, this trip will be during late March just before passover.

One alternative is to contact local synagogues/chabad where you want to stop. Many of them have hospitality programs which will be happy to host you for a meal or provide you with information about accessing kosher food.

Royal Dragon in Rockville, MD is probably worth a stop off of the I-95 corridor. I was driving once along with a non-jewish colleague from NY to VA, and we stopped there, and she said it was one of the best Chinese she ever had.

Well, I don't know the places this non-Jewish colleague frequents, but Royal Dragon is the epitome of old-school, oily, mediocre Chinese food. Reminded me of the places I went to in the 60's and '70's, but not in a good way. Read the reviews on Shamash. With dozens of other choices in Maryland, that would not be high on my list.

Cappucino... see my thread from last summer titled

Detouring onto 695 at Baltimore will add about 15-20 minutes and take you right by the Baltimore kosher restaurants. I think Goldberg's bagels are fantastic and worth the stop (I think they've won some best of Baltimore bagel awards). If you're in the mood for pizza, I prefer Mama Leah's, but best pizza debates seem to be a favorite chowhound pastime. I've never had really good kosher Chinese, they all seem to err on the side of blandness, but David Chu's isn't the oily mess that is Royal Dragon. The lunch specials should fit your low-cost requirement.
In Silver Spring, I'd go with the schwama and falafel at Max's. Again, best pizza moniker is always a touchy subject. My favorite in the area is Sienna's deep-dish but my favorite way to decide is getting a pie from each :)

Hey, Lone Soldier! Check out the JMA's website http://jewishbikersworldwide.com/Club... for Jewish motorcycle clubs located on your way down. There are many clubs located all the way down your route. Get in touch with them. Members know their home turf and may have some good suggestions for you. As fellow motorcyclists they may also be willing to show you some local hospitality.
And for the sake of full disclosure, I am associated with (but not a full member of) the Triangle Maccabee Riders in North Carolina.

As you move further south I do not think you will find kosher restaurants but at least in the larger communities, like Savannah, you should find regular supermarkets with large kosher food sections - take a look at http://shamash.org/kosher/ - it is a user maintained kosher restaurant/food discussion board that you can look to see what is there or potentially or your route -
