Great New Food Show on WHYY!!!

I love the food shows on Saturday morning on Channel 12 WHYY, they are a wonderful combination of instruction and armchair imagination dining...I admit I even take notes sometime. There is a great new show from the co-owner and chef of Philadelphia's Cibucan restaurant, Owen Lee. It is called "One For the Road" and features Lee traveling through Mexico tasting traditional foods and showing the audience how they are prepared. I loved when they showed how a traditional mole was prepared...using the ancient but still highly effective mano and matate. This is not just a cooking show and it is not just a travel show... it is a wonderful hybrid from a Philly local and I encourage all my fellow Philly Chowers to check it out. He will have more shows airing on Saturdays at 12:30pm on WHYY.

Cibucan is no longer, much to my regret. The chef is now doing the TV thing.

Sounds like an interesting show. Never heard of Cibucan before and never noticed it even though I am in that neighborhood quite a bit. Looked it up and zero reviews on Yelp, though there are some other unflattering ones floating around.

      What is it? Any opinions?

I think it closed years ago: http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/183860

        Unless it has relocated.

I honestly thought they went out of business a while back. I was there once when they opened, haven't been back. Last I heard they were making it more into a club-type place with food rather than a sit-down restaurant.
