5 days, my choices: iris, herbsaint, August, Dick and Jennys, Bristro Daiseys, Dantes kitchen, Galatroirs, Geautreas, and or Mr.Bs

Which should I eliminate and what should I add. Help!!

  1. you have got all winners dont eliminate any. add maybe commanders palace for lunch and the pelican club.

    1. Bistro Daisy I went with a group everyone loved it. August the food is fantastic, it is expensive, I would go for lunch unless money is not an issue. Herbsaint, I loved their gumbo, it was awesome. All of the choices you made are solid. I haven't been to Dante's Kitchen..I am pondering going when I am down there the end of the month. Enjoy!!! Go Saints

      1. Do not eliminate Mr. B's and get the bbq shrimp!!!! They are a must. They are in my top 3 favorite dishes in NOLA.

        I liked Dick and Jenny's, it's very heavy rich food. I wouldn't eat there at night again because I liked to have never gotten to sleep.

        1. all good, but consider adding Patois, Coquette and Boucherie.

                ELIMINATE Mr B's, add Stella! and/or Bon Ton....

          2. i would eliminate gautreau's. it is very nice, but the food is similar to menus in any large city. not very new orleans unique.

              Glad to see someone mention this - I've been making reservations for my trip and thought the exact same thing..........then again, I felt the same about Stella's menu options which seem to rely heavily on fishes and crustaceans from the Pacific Northwest.

                one other problem i had with gautreau's was the atmosphere was a little somber,uptown elite. we felt uncomfortable, like we couldn't even laugh out-loud for fear someone would look down their nose at us.

                  exactly. i like to eat speckled trout when in new orleans, that is not a fish i see elsewhere.
