We went for dinner yesterday. I thought it was very good, but needs some tweaking. We split 2 appetitzers--a house salad, and mushroom ravioli with a yogurt sauce. The salad was good but the small tomatoes in the salad were cold and tasted a bit mealy (a small problem but it bugged me, especially when paying quite a bit for a salad, I forget exactly but $8-$10). For some reason the dressing didn't seem well integrated with the salad. We enjoyed the raviolis which were bursting with flavor and mushrooms. The yogurt sauce was kind of sour but we liked it. For the main course I got Cod with mushrooms on a bed of spinach. I really enjoyed the cod, and it tasted very fresh. I think the price is kind of expensive, since cod is one of the cheapest fish, but it was prepared quite well. There was a choice of 5 or so desserts. They are all types of puddings paired, for some reason with ice cream. We got the vanilla Creme Brulee which for some reason was served with butter pecan ice cream. The Creme Brulee was very creamy and good, but it seemed like overkill when paired with ice cream. While we were there they played horrible pop music that really didn't seem to go with the atmosphere they are trying to create. Also it took more than 1/2 an our for our entrees to come but there were very few people in the restaurant. We noticed that other people who came in while we were eating our entrees got served very quickly. It didn't make any sense. I think the place needs to work out some small problems, but we would try it again--I think Cafe Mei Mei has some potential.
