The closest is Sichuan Village, just East of 28 on 50. Only order from the menu if the buffet is up. http://sichuanvillage.com/

    Chantilly, VA 20151-1601

Chinese only, or are you open for anything else?

I've heard Yen's Cafe is good.

Any insight to this? Yelp and their menu itself trends to the general american chinese type place. Great if it's a bit better prepared, but is there some insight worthwhile to hear? (for instance apparently some of those places really will give you the real deal but you need to ask the right way, which I assume means knowing Chinese or at least what region they hail from originally - since you wouldn't ask for Sichuan dishes from a Hunan family). If I knew how to tell that more easily, I might venture the attempt more - but I fear that I'd often end up walking out without ordering or ordering and feeling disappointed.

Well, I haven't been there yet but checked out their menu and since they have some more authentic type dishes put it on my list for the next time I'm in the area, personally wouldn't drive there only to try it but if I'm in the area .... I'm Chinese and if I order the authentic dishes, usually they turn out good.
