(I'm going for cholesterol screening today, so maybe just thinking of bacon and eggs is not a great idea. By the way, has there been a verified causation link of eggs and bacon with bad cholesterol?).
i nuked a tray of half a pound of bacon the other morning, and hadn't really eaten much dinner the night before. while it was still super hot from the micro, i had to grab a couple of pieces and chow down -- standing in front of the micro (and...to answer your question, no i am not proud of that!).

I've recommended this book to so many people it's ridiculous, but I'll continue doing so--"Good Calories, Bad Calories" by Gary Taubes, a noted science journalist. It has a big section on cholesterol where the bottom line is high cholesterol is not a sign of bad health overall. You'll change the whole way you look at food after you read it.
