Cravings for Malasadas in YYC / YEG / YVR
Hi, was in Honolulu this past Nov and had the amazing Leonards' malasadas (warm Portugese donuts some filled with custard and coated in sugar). Anyone know of Portugese bakeries that sell them in Calgary OR Edmonton OR Vancouver? Attached 2 photos of the doughy pieces of heaven.
In Vancouver, you could try Universal Bakery. Those look sinfully good.

A friend brought me back a big box of these from Leonard's in Hawaii (...a shout out to jahvay! Thanks!). I don't think I've seen them at Universal (I only get their egg tarts there, actually), but that place is your best bet.

Pretty sure that Hawaii is the only place to get Malasadas that are the Leonard's variety.
Toronto is the Portuguese capital of Canada (by far) so perhaps you can try there, but as I say you aren't going to find something like Leonard's anywhere else in the world.

*sigh* I guess I'll just have to wait until Leonards does online orders... or buy a flight to Hawaii

I have not actually had Leonards, but the malasadas in Kauai (small truck set up for only certain hours outside walmart) were incredible, if anyone finds them anywhere in Alberta, pls post!!
