Osaka day-trip - lunch recs?

snaporaz Jan 14, 2010 11:45 AM

I'm going to be doing a day-trip to Osaka in April and I'm looking for lunch recs somewhere between Umeda and Osaka-ko (i.e. the aquarium).
I was thinking about an early lunch at sushi Endo, but based on what I've read the main draw is the price. Is there any other place that fellow CHers might recommend? Maybe for oshi-zushi?

While you're at the aquarium, don't forget to check out Naniwa Kuishinbo Yokocho, which their website claims is Japan's first food theme park. http://www.bento.com/kansai/rev/8178.html

Umeda has literally thousands of choices for where to eat lunch. The Breeze Breeze shopping complex has several restaurants, including Sepporai which serves nice Kyoto-style cuisine with an emphasis on Kyoto vegetables: http://www.bento.com/kansai/rev/8278....

Thanks Robb! For sheer convenience it looks like I may be unable to pass up Naniwa Kuishinbo Yokocho. Hmmm... omu-raisu. Now if I could just afford dinner at Momen. Oh well... I have some lunch splurges scheduled in Kyoto (like Sojiki Nakahigashi) so I shouldn't complain.
If anyone else has suggestions by all means please post them.
