Carrboro Q Shack looks gone

LulusMom Jan 13, 2010 09:03 AM

Drove by it this morning and it seems to be closed. The windows all have paper over them, and I think the signs are down. That site seems to be very unlucky for restaurants. Never made it to the Shack though, so don't know if it was just a quality problem.

It just wasn't a hot venue. I mean it was alright, but considering that that whole parking lot is a total joke... It has been gone since at least Thanksgiving. I noticed a "Space For Rent" sign there back in Nov. The space is somewhat small.. A Jersey Mike's might work there not that we need or want one. Something odd like a bakery or ice cream place might work there too.. again not that we need one. What feasible thing would you like to see go into that space?

Carrboro could use a locopops (I type, drooling over my keyboard).

Maybe Neal's Deli could move there. It's a real pain trying to park where they are now and they only have three tables to sit at.

Yeah that would be a good place for them to go. It would also allow for a bigger case in the event that they wanted to add to their stock (get some additional meats from out of house like Giocomo's or as far off as Zingerman's).. not that I'm complaining at all about what they have there. But what would go into Neal's? Locopops? I was a bit peeved when they moved from The Courtyard back to where Cosmic is.. especially after The Courtyard expanded their parking lot.
