Mexican in Toledo?

There used to be just a few Mexican places there, but was just in town and noticed them all over the place. Any standouts/places to avoid? I've lived in CA and like the real thing, but it's also true that Tex-Mex can be done well like any other cuisine.

You are right, they are all over the place. Really, they are all pretty similar/generic, so a lot will depend on location. However, I read about a place that advertises as a taqueria, called San Marcos. It is in the back of a grocery store at 235 Broadway. I have not been nor have I heard anything. If you try it, please report back (hate to ask anyone to be the guinea pig but...) Some places I have been that are serviceable are Venturas, El Camino Real, El Vacquero. Another that might be worth a shot is El Tipico, an old family run place in the old south end. I haven't been in years, but I recall it seemed a little more authentic.
