Lunch Spot with life and GOOD FOOD Near Union Square?

Am meeting friends tomorrow for lunch in the Union Square area. As I will only be in San Fran 48 hours want every meal to be a good one... any recs for a lunch spot that:

**Costs about $20 or less for entrees
**Has some life during lunch
**Has really good food

I prefer Pan Asian/Latin food (have plans to eat at Slanted Door and La Mar Cebicheria while I'm in town). Also LOVE Thai food so if they're any good spots in the area, I would welcome your recs.
