there's a little place the something (sorry i can't remember, may be kapalua) general store right in front of the ritz that is cute. has some options including some traditional hawaiian ones. mix of tourists and locals there.

That would be the Honolua General Store. They have a large menu and great coffee.
You can park in the lot right behind it. They have great lunches and pre marinated steaks
for grilling if you are in the Villas.

I think this may be an old photo. The HGS has been remodeled in the past year or so and the menu and prices will certainly have changed. It's still a good bet for a reasonable (at least by Maui standards) breakfast.

Oh, you may be right. Hopefully the prices haven't changed too much. I remember having a "huh?" moment when I was at Cafe O'Lei as the prices on the menu didn't coincide with the prices online.

While July isn't that close when I was there the prices were not high at all I found them very very reasonable. I also like that they use ingredients and such from the Kapalua farms.
