Best butchers/sources of great meats in Philly region

I've been trying to find a source of high quality steaks in the region, but can't seem to find great filet and other meats.
I'm up for driving for great service and selection.

Joes Deli on Jenkintown Road - just north of Edge Hill Road is very good. Family run - will order / cut whatever you like, and very reasonable prices.

another vote for Arnie's. I've been going there for years and have sent many people his way. Great butcher, pricey, but not outrageously so.

If you're anywhere near the Main Line...there's the Main Line butcher shop in Ardmore. Very pricey, but very high quality.

Not sure which shop you are refering to, but if it is Main Line Prime, it closed in May of last year.

These people come to local farmers markets. You can order ahead of time and pick up your order at the farmers market.

Esposito's in the italian market is pricey but is by far the best. Every good restaurant in the region gets their meat from espositos.

The reason so many restaurants use Esposito's is due to their distribution system. Futhermore, don't count on getting the same quality meats retail that they wholesale to restaurants. I've never had bad meat from them, but IMO it pales in comparison to other retail operations.

I agree. Their stuff is above average but I've never had anything spectacular from them. And the store itself is a pain in the butt to navigate.

In center city, Harry Ochs in the RTM. If you're trekking out to Chester County, the Country Butcher in Kennett Square.
