Tips for Dining, Eating, and Food Shopping in the SF Bay Area (including Berkeley, Oakland, Napa, Sonoma, Marin, and San Jose)

Pre-Theater (Orpheum) dining?

Haven't visited the Bay Area for a few years and am looking for a good option for Friday night before 8pm show at the Orpheum Theatre. No restrictions other than wife is pregnant, so please don't taunt her with sushi! Thanks!

    1. Zuni is about a 10 minute walk to the Orpheum. If you can't get a reservation you can always sit down in the bar and eat. The last time we were there we got there about 5:30 pm and ordered the Chicken which is always a good choice. You can get there later and order something with a shorter cook time and still make it. We were out by 7:00 pm which gave us plenty of time to get to the theatre.

We also ate at Zuni before a performance of Wicked at the Orpheum last year. It is a pretty easy walk but you do have to walk through a bit of sketchy area, you can hop the historic F Market trolley and it will take you between the 2 places.

The Chicken Bread Salad takes an hour, make sure you alot for that if you want it. While it is excellent, there are plenty of other options. Eating in the bar area works well too.
