Best Hummus and/or Falafel on the west side?

I had pretty solid falafel at Hungry Pocket--I'm sure there must be better, though. Hummus-wise, Whole Foods Venice carries a stand-out company-made one; extremely light yet creamy.

    1. I find the hummus at Alcazar Express on Westwood to be the best by far on the westside. I prefer it creamy without too much tahini or lemon -- like Azuri Cafe in NYC if you are familiar -- and Alcazar hits that sweet spot every time. The only thing that would make it better is some green onion like Ezra adds.

I still haven't found falafel that blows me away. Habayit, Cafe Dahab, Bella Pita, Hungry Pocket, Sham, Sunnin, and even Falafel King all do a decent job, but none of them stands head and shoulders above the rest imo.

2nd. Alcazar has both the best hummus and falafel on the west side.

          • When I was still living in Hermosa Beach, I ordered my falafel takeout and delivery all the time from Poulet Du Jour. Excellent, spicy falafel with a nice chili sauce on the side. They also make tasty dolmas, but almost never have them for sale. At least in LA, I haven't had a falafel I've liked more than theirs.
