Ha Anh Korean Restaurant, Cleveland
Tried the new Korean restaurant this weekend. Pleasantly surprised . The owner of Superior Pho probably was surpised to see me pass by his door for Ha Anh (it's down the hall)! Clean, little space, pleasant service from an older man (think it's family owned). Tried the combination seafood soft tofu soup "medium" hot. My 4 ban shan's were: kimchee (of course), small marinated cucumbers, goju root carmelized (very sweet, more like candied) and a tiny filled omelette-like roll. Interesting, bc aside from the kimchee I have never seen these ban shan in the other 2 Korean restaurants in town. Usually you get more than 4, but they are dull, standard at Korea House andslightly better at Seoul Hot Pot.
There is a short menu and a wall full of photos of dishes not on the printed menu. Just like Won Ton Gourmet, this is a great way to get an idea of the dish. In fact, Ha Anh reminds me of WonTon Gorumet in concept.
Looking forward to trying more.
Is this place really new? I went to a korean place there well over a year ago (took place of the Asian bakery) . It was good, I need to get back. I do think the the owner (love him) of Superior Pho's crestfallen face when I walked by impacted me in such a way, I have not dared go back. will have to use Superior entrance.
I've finally posted my blog post from a delicious January lunch. My friend Tom and I enjoyed fabulous steamed dumplings, a crispy version of Bibimbop, and a soup with bean curd bits, pork and kimchee that was out of this world good! The full report is here:
