Thai in Acton?

Another vague wondering post; sorry..

I was driving down Main St, I believe, in Acton yesterday, right near where it meets Rt.111, on my way to Roche Bros. I passed a Thai place in a strip mall, with a name like "Rapparong", or something equally authentic sounding. Just the fact that it wasn't called Thai Palace, or House of Thai, or one of the basic names just kind of made me wonder if it was something new (that's how it seemed) and/or, good?

    1. Benjarong - been there as long as I can remember (I moved to Acton in 98) Been a few times and have gotten takeout probably a dozen times - its ok - nothing I've had has wowed me, but nothing has been bad either.

Benjarong was surprisingly good when I worked in the area - but that was close to ten years ago, they've probably changed chefs since then. I recall they offered their dishes with one to three levels of heat, but if you wanted you could order level four or (if you dared) five and get real Thai heat levels, as well as excellent flavor.

              Mmm, pretty lackluster looking menu....

              • I have been 3-4 times and never was impressed. At the moment the best Asian food (of any sorts) in the area is the place below Sushi House by the rotary in concord. they have a new chef and new authentic menu. Some nice Spicy dishes too. Other then that, its a drive to Billerica , chelmsford or Lowell.

What about the Chinese place that set up in the coffee shop near the Commuter Rail station? Is it still there? I went about a year ago and found it pretty good.

It was pretty good but it has now become a place called "Teriyaki Station" which is a former place out of the burlington mall food court. Very limited american food court menu. Main specialty is the "teriyaki chicken" that they always bombard you with on toothpicks when you walk thru any mall. Its sad
