restaurant week 2010

Any places in particular to look out for? I know they don't start taking reservations until tomorrow but I wanted to be prepared so I can get a good reservation! In the past I have gone to Dos Caminos (liked it but I go there normally so it wasn't really "special"), Rosa Mexicano (same), 21 club (liked but I almost felt bad/cheap for ordering off of RW menu), Spice Market (perfect mix of "place I wouldn't ordinarily go" and "not stuffy"), and Smith and Wollensky several times (great but want to try something new).

    1. Info on Restaurant Week NYC is always on nycgo.com as they are the organizers and sponsors.

      1. I just reserved spots at Convivio, Park Avenue Winter and Aquavit Dining Room. I've been to Convivio before, wonder what the RW menu will be.

              That is what NYC & Co want you to believe because tomorrow is when the OpenTable list goes online. But most of these restaurants have had their books open for weeks.

                so that means if we knew that a restaurant was participating, we could have reserved weeks ago?

                  Yes -- what I do is look at last season's list, make some reservations in advance, and cross my fingers that they're on this season's list. :) If not, I simply cancel the reservation as soon as I find out.

                    Yep, you can do that or NYCGo always publishes the list a day early for some early birds (secret link, I guess?). Stole a peek at that and reserved through it.
