  1. I have an Eqyptian friend and I did a search for food for him. Check out "Lawrence of Arabia"....Lawrence Ave between Vic Park and Warden. There are a large number of Middle Eastern grocery stores and restaurants. The best grocery stores are Arz and Nasr. Right across the street from Arz in a little strip mall is Lotus Catering which is specifically Egyptian. They have a lot of Egyptian comfort food items including molokhai. The Butler's Pantry on Markham Street is a restaurant that specializes in international comfort food including koshari. My friend says the koshari is not as good as home....but what is? I thought it was good and I have had koshari in Cairo.

Hope this helps and good luck with your search.

    1. Ararat on Avenue Road, across from No Frills. They are Armenians, and they carry products from Middle East.
