Montreal guys night out

Hi, I will be in Montreal this weekend and was wondering if anyone had a recommendation for a reasonably priced restaurant with a good beer selection and good/reasonably priced food. It can be bar food, but we can go more upscale than that too if there is somewhere more fitting. We are staying at the Sheraton at 1201 Boulevard Rene-Levesque West, if that is of any help. Thanks in advance!

For jazz there is the Upstairs Downstairs around the corner on Bishop. Not bad food, good drinks and nice music.

I would suggest either Hurley's irish pub (very good selection of beer and food) or Brutopia for microbrewery selection .Their kitchen isn't as extensive as Hurley's though.

If not you can go a bit more up "north" and go to le barouf which has a very good selection of beer or Biere et compagnie which has ALOT of import. Both restaurants are on st-denis

Plan 1:

For beer and pub food I'd hit up Saint Bock on St. Denis. The location is right for a guys night out (for multiple reasons), the beer selection is profound (something like 20 on tap with tasting portions available) and a bible of bottles from around the world.... and I was pleasantly surprised by the pub grub.

Plan 2:

I might also be tempted to hit up Au pied de Cochon for the fatty meat that we crave on this sort of outing (they also have a semi decent beer selection) and then walk down to Resevoir on the same street for more beer after.

Try the Sir Winston Churchill Pub on Crescent St. Its within walking distance of where you are staying. I'm not sure of the beer, but I'd guess they have a decent selection. The food is decent and its a fun atmosphere.
