Looking for a family-friendly restaurant near Universal City/Beverly Hills

Hi, happy to jump in the car and travel, just looking for somewhere with nice cheap-ish food where we can take a 7 and a 10 year old

  1. Only a mile or so from Universal City, Caioti Pizza Cafe in Universal City is that rarest of places, kid-friendly but also compatible with adults. Excellent menu of pizzas, salads and sandwiches from the late owner/chef EdLaDou, Spago's first pizza chef and designer of the CPK menu.

Good recs, except I have to disagree on one point. I have never met anyone with anything good to say about the food at El Coyote -- the only positives I've heard are for the bar, and that's not exactly a talking point for someone with kids. They're not too young to start learning the difference between good and bad food.

The food is average, cheap and the kids seem to love it. The parents can have a margarita, and they wanted something inexpensive. I live a couple of blocks away and we go there because it is inexpensive and they will make me what I want. I don't expect high quality food when I go there, but it is decent. If I want to drive futher there are a lot of other places I like and would recommend.
