I'm looking for good charcuterie and a good bread baker. I especialy love sourdough and a toothy leandough. I'm in Anaheim. I remember hearing about a polish butcher shop in orange, but can't for the life of me remember the name or find it in searches. I'm willing to travel so throw out your suggestions if you know a gem that is worth the drive.

I don't recall seeing any reports on a Polish butcher? There is a Polish Deli called Polka - see this prior thread for a description: http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/612061

        Good for sausages is:
        Mattern Deli and Meats
        4327 East Chapman Avenue
        Orange, CA
        (714) 639-3550‎

You might also try Claro's (locations in La Habra and Tustin). http://www.claros.com

I am not much help on the sourdough front, but Cream Pan in Tustin has a good baguette, as does Pascal's Epicerie http://pascalnpb.com/pascal_epicerie_...

        Cream Pan
        602 El Camino Real
        Tustin, CA 92780-4310
        (714) 665-8239

The Polish deli is, as Servorg said, called Polka. Mattern has a great selection of sausages, or if you're truly dedicated, call Schreiner's in Montrose, place an order, and have them send it down with the "Meat Guys" to the Irvine farmers' market on Saturday mornings near UCI.

For good charcuterie, do you mean French? If so, maybe Pascal Epicerie or the few selections at Frog's Breath Cheese in the Orange Circle. If you're willing to try Vietnamese charcuterie, which is heavily French-influenced, go to Thai Binh on Brookhurst (the sign says "Lo Cha Lua", which means "We sell pork loaf").

As for bread, I love the breads from Picket Lane Bakery, which is in Huntington Beach but sells at the Irvine FM. I also love Streit's German Bakery, which is in Downey but distributes to many places, including Wholesome Choice markets in Irvine and Anaheim Hills and Jon's Marketplace on Goldenwest in HB.
