Graduation party venue help, MA, RI

Hi all,

I am trying to choose a venue for a college graduation luncheon in May for 30 people in the Norton, Mansfield, Easton, Sharon, Taunton, Foxboro, Attleboro, all the way down to Providence, RI area.

Because I don't live near there I have to ask relatives up that way to check venues out for me and they have agreed to do so.

My price per person is fairly high, so that is not an issue. What I don't want is the feel of a bridal shower or highly formal event. I am looking for tasteful, special, but casual where the venue looks great but the food isn't stuffy. After all this is lunch.

We are looking for a private room where we can bring a bunch of balloons and play some CDs.

So far, I am pondering:

The Chateau in Norton with water view. My sister though thought it might be a bit stuffy.

Twenty8, a restaurant in the Renaissance Hotel on Patriots Way in Foxboro. Haven't sent anyone there yet, but it looks great on its Web site.

Stone Forge Grille in Easton, my sister-in-law had a business luncheon there and said it was pretty good.

I was considering the Hotel Providence but crossed it off because not sure I really want guests to drive that far (graduation is in Norton, MA). Also it looked bridal showery to me (i.e. formal).

I also crossed off Benjamin's in Taunton because my sister said it was outdated.

Any suggestions or thoughts?

Just be aware that the Brown U graduation weekend is on May 30th, so places in Providence, RI will be booked solid.
