Cocktail party with appetizers for 20 people
I've seen a bunch of posts regarding this but for some reason just haven't found the "one"
Ideally would be a private space (similar to Against the Grain with the one long table standing room available, they want to charge a room fee of $1800 though) to hold about 15-20 people for Saturday night end of January. Want to order a bunch of appetizers for the "table" and have guests purchase their own cocktails. No clubs or loud nightlife. something causual and fun. maybe even rustic. any ideas?

I gave my sister a bridal shower at Lulu's in Soho on Mulberry st. They have (had?) a private room in the back and were so amazingly accommodating. The food was INCREDIBLE and I think they charged us something like $20-25 person for a huge brunch with wine. If that doesn't work, maybe try Jo's? Good luck!

Or how about The Monday Room at Public? They'll do private events up to 25 people and they focus on small plates.
