Anyone been to the Parkway Grill in Pasadena in the last year or two?

The lady and I are looking for something fancy. Weirdly, I see almost no mention of this restraunt here.

Any opinions? Other recs within easy driving range? Again, she wants something she can wear a nice dress to, and I want the best food possible that meets her requirement.

The next day, I'll be back to eating Pho in El Monte.

Many thanks!

I was there in November and it continues to be one of my favorites places in Pasadena. But what do I know.

Sounds like a fun evening out. For work purposes, my boss dines at most of the better restaurants in the great LA / OC area. A while ago I scheduled a special celebration dinner for a 15+ group from our company at Bistro 45 in Pasadena. The Monday morning after, several of the consultants involved stopped by my desk to tell me how much they loved the dinner. When my boss came in, he said "It's a long time since I've been 'wow'd' by a restaurant, but that was definitely how I felt Saturday night." I have not been there myself, but it got rave reviews from a group with consistent access to the best LA has to offer. Might be worth a try ...

I have not been yet, but if you want upscale you can always hit the Langham Huntington Hotel. They got a Michelin Star, and Michael Voltagio, how won Top Chef is now their head chef.

On a side note, I proposed to my wife at the Parkway Grill over twenty years ago ;) Of course there were a lot fewer options back then.
