Best Cheese Plate

I'll be visiting San Francisco soon and want to track down the best cheese plate in town. Thoughts?

  1. As part of a dinner service? Gary Danko has a nice cheese thing on wheels that they'll bring to your table. For a restaurant, I thought it had a nice selection - about 25-30 different cheeses, if I recall correctly (this was early last year).

We did two Gary Danko cheese plates instead of a "regular" dessert and found it incredible.

    2. Manresa's is spectacular, but they're in Los Gatos. They have a special battery-powered cart that keeps the cheese at the exact right temperature.

      Gary Danko's is pretty impressive:

If you're thinking of slightly more casual dining, Bar Bambino and Cav are always good.
