La Marsa in Farmington Hills, MI

I was delighted to see my favorite Middle Eastern restaurant written up in the Play section of the Free Press. I love this place! And it's like two minutes from my house! If you ever get a chance to go there, do it! There food is so fresh and always delicious. And you can't find friendlier and efficient service. I'm going there sometime in the next week and I can't wait!

Ok, that's how I know the name.
Didn't they take over the former La Shish location on 12 Mile and Halstead in Farmington Hills? I could have sworn that became La Marsa, but when I last drove by it was another middle eastern place.

The former La Shish location on 12 mi. and Halsted is Taboule(sp?). Haven't been since I have La Marsa right around the corner. But I remember reading a while back that La Marsa was opening in that space. I guess the deal didn't go through or they decided it wasn't lucrative to have another La Marsa just a few miles from their Drake and Gr. River location.

That makes sense. It's never made sense to me when franchises and chains open up locations too close to each other.
I'll be visiting La Marsa soon, either way.

La Marsa is my go-to Middle Eatern in that area (by my office). Great wait staff, although I mostly do takeout. Their bread is not yeasty like Pineland's, and their garlic sauce is wonderful. I was dragged screaming to 2booli this week. It was a perfect storm of awfulness. Avoid.

My daughter went to 2Booli with some friends over her winter break. She didn't care for it either. And yes, that garlic sauce at La Marsa is wonderful! A few weeks ago I had a couple of small containers of the garlic sauce left over. I threw it into some mashed potatoes and it made the greatest garlic mashed potatoes! I want some now.

Is it called La Marsa, too, or goes under another name? This is on the go-to list.
