Black Truffle Oil vs. White Truffle Oil

I have a risotto recipe that calls for white truffle oil, but I only have black truffle oil; is this an acceptable substitute?

  1. Can't see where it would matter all that much, considering truffle oil is artificially flavored anyway.

      This really depends on what you buy.

    2. No. "White truffle" oil has a strong, distinctive aroma and not much flavor.

      The flavor of the black truffle oils I've tried is so subtle I'm not sure it even makes sense to buy it.
